Please Read the following before you download Pothana2000 font. This is an Unicode compatible Opentype font that works with microsoft's Unicode Script Processing Engine (USP10.dll). If you install Pothana2000 along with USP10.dll and Indic language support under Windows 2000, you can create documents in Telugu using this font. For details, please read the user manual that comes with the download. In pre-2000 Windows environments, you can install this font along with USP10.dll to view web pages and email messages created in the Win2000 environment using this font.

You can use this font freely for your personal use, and you can publish material created with this font after giving due credit to me (K.Desikachary), the creator of this font. If you like what I am doing and want to help me in my efforts, you may donate whatever you like for my projects. One such project is to publish hitherto unpublished works of great poets from original manuscripts on the web. As you know there are many great works of poetry languishing in the manuscript libraries that haven't seen the light of the day. It is very worthwhile to publish them, and web publishing is the most affordable way of doing this. Even so, it involves considerable amount of work to collect all the available manuscripts, and to critically prepare an authentic version of the manuscript. This calls for great dedication and scholarship and involves some cost. If I can raise enough money through donations, I will give it as a research grant to a qualified scholar in a Telugu Department in India and entrust him/her with the task of authentic manuscript preparation. I estimate it requires about $1000-2000 per work to accomplish this. So, any amount you donate for using my font will be used for this project. If you are willing, you may send your voluntary contributions to my address given at the end in the user manual.
